What is a Fun Page?

A fun page is an individual URL from within your site that contains one piece of content. It can be a flash game, funny joke, funny picture, funny video, quiz/test, or possibly something else.

What is a Home Page?

A home page is your website's index page. It is the page visitors are taken to when typing your domain name into their web browser. Fun Page Exchange can now deliver traffic to your home page with content category links.

What is a Credit?

A credit is the basic unit of Fun Page Exchange currency. One credit is consumed for each incoming clickthrough to your website. Credits can be earned five different ways, and you can also purchase additional credits.

How do I earn credits?

For every 5 clickthroughs you send us, you will earn 4 credits. Clickthroughs can be generated from five different types of links: Content category links, content link banners, our "More Fun Pages" link, e-mail newsletter links, and webmaster referrals.

How do you determine which links appear?

Every 60 seconds, Fun Page Exchange picks 5 pages each from 20 different users with available pages and credits. These 100 pages are rotated until a new group of pages are randomly picked.

Do you send blind traffic?

We will never send blind traffic. Every link we use is either a content link or home page link.

Can I earn multiple credits from one visitor?

Yes! Our system is based upon raw clickthroughs, not unique visitors. For every 5 clickthroughs you generate, you will earn 4 credits.

How do I temporarily stop incoming traffic to my fun pages?

Disabling your pages will stop them from appearing on website links, and will make them unavailable for future newsletter linking (if the option is enabled). However, it will not interrupt incoming traffic from existing newsletter links. If you wish to stop incoming traffic from newsletter links that have already been advertised, you can do so by disabling newsletter linking in your member profile.

What happens if I advertise a page and it becomes unavailable?

The visitor will be sent to a page with 100 Fun Page Exchange links, and a message will appear saying the page is not available. The visitor can then click on any of the links on the page and you'll receive credit for any clickthroughs generated.

How do I make my pages eligible for newsletter linking?

You must have newsletter links enabled in your member profile, and at least 1,000 credits in your account for your pages to be made available for newsletter linking. 5 active pages are required, but 20 are recommended.

How do Fun Page Exchange links affect Google PageRank?

Fun Page Exchange website links are generated with JavaScript and are not spidered. You will neither gain nor lose PageRank by displaying our links on your site. As an added precaution, our links also use the "nofollow" tag.

Why are my content links inactive?

You must have at least 5 content links enabled and 100 credits in your account for your content links to be active. All new accounts start out with 100 credits.

Why can't I see my newsletter links in the code selection?

As a precaution, you cannot see your own links in your account. This is to prevent members from accidentally running their own links.

Why are my Hits Out much larger than my Hits In?

The Hits In total only reflects hits in to current pages in your account. If you delete a page, the hits in stats for that page will be deleted.

Why are my links appearing on my own link boxes?

This may happen from time to time. Rest assured that when your own links are clicked, no credits are deducted from your Fun Page Exchange account.

Why does my credit balance go down even when it's under 100?

The page rotation is refreshed every minute, but you may still receive incoming clicks from websites that were viewed before your pages became inactive. If you are using newsletter links, incoming hits from advertised links will also contribute to this.

How can I get traffic faster?

Use newsletter links. A minimum of 1,000 credits are required for your links to be made available for other members to promote in their newsletters. You can enable this option at any time in your member profile.

Use content links. Having at least 5 content pages enabled in your account will allow you to receive traffic through content linking. While only 5 links are required, submitting more links enables you to promote a wider variety of content and increase your traffic potential. The default limit is 100 content links, though this amount can be increased upon request.

List your home page. List your home page's title, description and category to make your home page eligible to be promoted with our content category links.

Tell a friend about FPE. The more webmasters that join Fun Page Exchange, the more traffic our network can generate. Use your webmaster referral link and earn 1,000 credits per referred signup!

Why does the number of hits I've received from Fun Page Exchange not match my Google Analytics stats?

Newsletter clicks. If you have the newsletter option enabled, please bear in mind that the user's e-mail client will be the referer instead of Fun Page Exchange, or the referer may simply be absent.

Non-unique clicks. If a visitor clicks on more than one of your fun page links, it will only count as one unique visitor. Make sure to check total pageviews and not just visits.

What can I do to lower my bounce rate and keep visitors on my site longer?

Have a well designed, easy to navigate website. By making it easier for users to navigate your site, you increase the likelihood that they will stay longer.

Keep your site's load time quick. If your site does not load quickly, the visitor is likely to leave.

Have many internal links to other parts of your site. Make it easy for them to find more content to view, so they can find a reason to stay on your site longer.

Have unique, interesting content. Having original content adds value to your site. Give visitors something they can't find elsewhere!

How much do you pay per click?

Our current pay rate is $25 per 10,000 credits. This is a $2 CPM on raw clickthroughs, after taking into account the 5:4 ratio at which credits are earned. Our minimum payment amount is $50.

But other PPC programs pay way more than that!

Fun Page Exchange links are not advertisements; they are content links, and will generate much higher clickthrough rates. You can even earn multiple credits from a visitor who clicks several of the links. Additionally, our links do not have to be promoted exclusive of any other advertisements. Our affiliate program provides you with the unique opportunity to get paid to promote content rather than ads!

How can I get paid to promote Fun Page Exchange links?

If you're interested in joining our affiliate program, please fill out an application to let us know a little bit more about your newsletter and/or website. If you're already a Fun Page Exchange member, make sure to disable your links in the members admin. This will allow your credits to accumulate rather than being spent on receiving return traffic.

How do I cash in my credits?

Send us an e-mail when you have accumulated 20,000 or more credits, and we'll send you a PayPal payment within 7 business days. We use PayPal's Mass Pay feature so you won't incur any fees for receiving your payment. If your PayPal e-mail address is different than the e-mail address in your Fun Page Exchange account, please make sure to note this.
